Soccer Laws Dojo Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as "these Terms") set forth all matters relating to the use of the mobile application "Soccer Laws Dojo" (hereinafter referred to as "the App") provided by the operator of Soccer Laws Dojo (hereinafter referred to as "the Operator"). Users of the App (hereinafter referred to as "Users") shall use the App upon agreeing to these Terms.

Article 1: Purpose of the App

The App is a learning application designed to deepen understanding of the Laws of the Game of football (soccer).

The Operator provides Users with a platform and opportunities for learning the Laws of the Game through the App, but does not guarantee the accuracy or degree of knowledge acquisition.

The App provides features such as quiz data, answer interruption functionality, question list reference, multiple-choice questions, fill-in-the-blank questions, and challenge quiz functionality.

Article 2: Definitions

User: An individual who agrees to the contents of these Terms and uses the App.

Content: Information posted or transmitted on the App by the Operator or third parties from whom the Operator has obtained a license (including quiz questions, answers, explanations, images, designs, etc.).

User Information: Information collected by the Operator as defined in the Privacy Policy.

Privacy Policy: The Privacy Policy established by the Operator.

Premium Plan: Paid features and ancillary services of the App that can be used by paying the separately specified usage fees.

Article 3: Agreement to and Application of These Terms

By using the App, Users are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

The Operator may modify the contents of these Terms at any time by posting them at an appropriate location on the website or application that constitutes the App.

If a User uses the App after these Terms have been modified, the User is deemed to have agreed to the modifications.

Article 4: Operation of the App (Advertising Revenue and Other Revenue)

The Operator provides the App free of charge in principle, but may earn revenue through advertising and the provision of a paid plan (Premium Plan).

Users agree that advertisements from the Operator or third parties partnered with the Operator may be displayed within the App when using the free version (without a Premium Plan subscription).

No claims for reduction or refund of App usage fees shall be made on the grounds of advertising placement.

Users shall prepare and maintain, at their own expense and responsibility, the smartphones, communication lines, other devices, software, and communication environments necessary for using the App.

Article 5: Premium Plan (Subscription)

Service Provision: The Operator provides the "Premium Plan" as a paid service, which includes ad-free experience, removal of feature limitations, and other added value.

Usage Fees and Payment: The usage fees and payment methods for the Premium Plan are subject to the purchase screen within the App or the terms of each platform (App Store, Google Play).

Automatic Renewal: The Premium Plan (subscription) is automatically renewed at the end of each billing period. If a User does not wish to renew, they must cancel the automatic renewal through the settings of each platform at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Cancellation: Users may stop the next renewal at any time through their device's platform settings (Apple ID or Google Account subscription management screen). Please note that cancellation is not completed by changing settings within the App or deleting (uninstalling) the App alone.

Refunds: Except as required by law, the Operator will not issue refunds for fees already paid (including prorated refunds).

Free Trial: The Operator may offer a free trial period for the Premium Plan. If cancellation procedures are not completed during the free trial period, the subscription will automatically transition to a paid plan and charges will begin.

Article 6: User Responsibilities and Registration

When registering a user account within the App (such as setting a nickname), Users must provide accurate information and must promptly update any changes to the information provided.

Users are responsible for managing their own user ID and other account information. The User shall bear responsibility for any damages resulting from inadequate management, and the Operator shall not be held liable except in cases caused by the Operator's intentional act or negligence.

If a User is a minor, they must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before using the App. The Operator assumes no responsibility even if use occurs without parental consent. The same applies when a minor subscribes to the Premium Plan; it is assumed that consent has been obtained from a legal representative (parent, guardian, etc.).

Article 7: Suspension of Use and Cancellation of User Registration

If a User falls under any of the following items, the Operator may, without prior notice, refuse access to all or part of the App, suspend use, or cancel user registration (delete user records).

The Operator shall not be liable for any damages incurred by the User as a result of the measures described in the preceding paragraph, except in cases caused by the Operator's intentional act or negligence.

Article 8: Intellectual Property Rights and Content Sources

Sources of Questions

The questions presented in the App are independently created by the Operator based on the Laws of the Game established by IFAB (International Football Association Board). The copyright of the Laws of the Game themselves belongs to IFAB.

Copyright of Content

All rights related to the App and the Content (including copyrights and intellectual property rights for quiz questions, answers, explanations, images, designs, etc. created by the Operator) belong to the Operator or the relevant third-party rights holders.

Restrictions on Content Use

Users may not reproduce, transmit, republish, modify, or otherwise use the Content beyond the scope of the App's intended use (personal learning).

Article 9: Prohibited Activities

Users shall not engage in any of the following activities when using the App.

Article 10: Handling of Personal Information and User Information

The Operator shall handle User Information collected in connection with the provision of the App appropriately in accordance with the separately established Privacy Policy.

Users shall review and agree to the Privacy Policy before using the App.

Article 11: Interruption, Termination, and Modification of the App

The Operator may interrupt or suspend the provision of all or part of the App without prior notice to Users due to unavoidable circumstances such as server (AWS EC2, RDS, etc.) failures, maintenance, natural disasters, etc.

The Operator may terminate or modify all or part of the App for any reason. In the event of termination of the App, the Operator will notify or announce this to Users in advance, to the extent possible, by means deemed appropriate by the Operator.

Article 12: Disclaimer

The Operator does not guarantee the accuracy, usefulness, or timeliness of the content of the App (questions, explanations, etc.), nor the stable provision of the App.

If a dispute arises between a User and a third party in connection with the use of the App, the User shall resolve it at their own expense and responsibility.

Except in cases caused by the Operator's intentional act or gross negligence, the Operator shall not be liable for any damages incurred by the User resulting from the use or inability to use the App (including loss of data, device failure, etc.).

Article 13: Compensation for Damages

If the Operator incurs damages due to a User's violation of these Terms, the User shall compensate the Operator for such damages.

Even in cases where the Operator bears liability for damages to a User, the Operator's liability shall be limited to ordinary damages that are actual and directly incurred by the User due to the Operator's breach of contract or tort. However, this does not apply in cases caused by the Operator's intentional act or gross negligence.

Article 14: Account Deletion (Withdrawal)

Users may delete their user registration (account) and withdraw at any time by using the account deletion feature provided in the App's settings screen.

[Important Information Regarding Account Deletion]

Important: Cancellation of Subscriptions
Using the account deletion feature within the App does not automatically cancel your Premium Plan subscription (recurring purchase) on the App Store or Google Play. Users must cancel the subscription themselves through the management screen of each platform. The Operator assumes no responsibility for any charges incurred due to failure to cancel the subscription.

Article 15: Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of Japan.

In the event of a dispute between the Operator and a User regarding these Terms, the Tokyo Summary Court or the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance, depending on the amount in controversy.
