Watch the assistant referee in this scene. It is an excellent judgement. When a short corner is played, defending players push their line up while attacking players try to run in behind, so the two can move in opposite directions. This scene was exactly that situation, yet the assistant referee correctly judged that the player was onside. It was a truly excellent judgement. Judging offside when players move in opposite directions is very difficult in itself. On top of that, this came from a corner kick with many players in front of goal, which makes it even harder. It was also difficult even to keep in view the moment the ball was played. With so many difficult conditions combined, the assistant referee accurately picked up the line and the players' positions and made the correct judgement. It is an excellent piece of officiating and a valuable example for assistant referees.
